Below is a list of our MOST frequently asked questions from customers and our answers:

  -  Question: What's the BEST way to get in touch with someone in order to answer some of my groups questions?

Answer: TEXT US!! Our Captains wear many hats.. They are Fishing Guides who give 100% of their focus to their clients when they they are on the water. When they are not on the water they are our mechanics, scouts, engineers, and advertising/marketing specialists, so PLEASE TEXT (NOT call) (504)458-7328 or (225)266-5353 for the absolute QUICKEST response. If you do call please be sure to leave a voicemail stating your name and what your question is in order to receive a call back.

- Question: What do I need to bring on the trip?

Answer: We recommend you bring any food/drinks you would like (alcohol is allowed). There will be an ice chest on board pre-packed with ice for you to put these items into, so there is no need to bring your own ice chest onboard the boat. Sunscreen, Mosquito repellent, comfortable clothing, sunglasses, and a hat are all great things to bring along with you.

- Question:  Where do we meet and at what time?

Answer: Your Captain will let you know the day before the trip the exact time to meet. We operate out of Grand Isle Marina, so unless otherwise told you should plan to meet at Grand Isle Marina. (Address: 158 Sandollar Ct. Grand Isle, LA)

- Question: Is there a bathroom on the boat?

Answer: Our 39ft Contender is the only boat with a toilet on board. All other boats have a bucket that can be used if needed.

- Question:  What days do you have available this "week", "month", or "year"?

Answer: You can check each of our Captains availabilities by clicking the "Schedule" or "Book a trip" links on our website. Our calendars are updated the moment a trip is booked, so you never have to worry about double bookings or unavailable dates. If the dates are showing "Unavailable" then they are NOT available. If they are showing "Available" then these dates and time slots are available.

- Question: "I have 4 people in my group, but only 3 will be fishing. Do I still have to pay for the 4 people?"

Answer: If you have 4 people attending, but only 3 will be fishing then you will only pay for 3 guests, BUT if the additional guest casts a line or you keep fish that enter into the additional persons daily bag limit of fish then you WILL be charged for the additional person.

- Question: What type of fish can I expect to catch on my charter?

Answer: If you click the "Charters" link and select the type of trip you are interested in it will show you the list of species you can expect to target on the trip. There is always a chance that other species will be caught, but the species listed are the MAIN species that we target.

- Question: What species do you NOT target?

Answer: Grouper, Amberjack, Marlin, and Sailfish.

- Question: Do I need a fishing license?

Answer: YES! You will need either a Basic Saltwater License OR a 3 Day Charter Pass for anyone in the group who is 18 years or older. Your license can be purchased from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries online at https://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/

- Question: Do we need to bring a lifejacket for kids 16 years of age and under?

- Question: Do you offer lodging? Is there any place you recommend for lodging?

Answer: We have campsites with full hook ups available for RV's/Campers up to 40ft long. We do not have any other sort of accomodations although there are plenty on the island for you to choose from. We highly recommend Grand Isle Marina, Hurricane Hole Hotel, Blue Dolphin Inn, and Bridgeside Marina to our charter clients looking for a hotel room to stay in.

- Question: How many people can we bring?

Answer: Our boats can hold up to 6 guests, so with our 4 Captains we can take groups of up to 24 people at a time. For groups larger than 24 people we can coordinate with other Charter Captains to ensure the proper number of boats are aquired for your trip. For INSHORE trips we recommend a max of 4-5 people per boat to ensure adequate room for casting. Although, we can handle 6 guests in a boat while fishing inshore, it is more comfortable for everyone to split groups of 6 between two boats if possible.

- Question: How do i pay my remaining balance?

Answer: Your remaining balance will be due the day of the trip. Your Captain will be able to take Credit/Debit Card and Cash (preferred) payments at the marina. If you would like to pay the remaining balance beforehand just let your Captain know and an invoice for the remaining balance will be emailed over to you prior to the trip. We do not send invoices after the trip for the remaining balance. ALL REMAINING BALANCES MUST BE PAID UPON RETURNING TO THE MARINA FROM THE FISHING TRIP.

- Question: Are there discounts if I book multiple days/boats?

Answer:  Unfortunately there are no discounts for group bookings or multi day bookings.

- Question: What's the refund/cancellation policy for bad weather?

Answer: All deposits are NON refundable. In the event of a cancellation due to weather you will have 365 days to reschedule your trip under the original deposit.

- Question: What's the BEST time of year to catch a particular species of fish?

Answer:  Speckled Trout March-December, (Slot) Redfish October-June, (Bull) Redfish Year Round, Yellowfin Tuna Year Round, Swordfish Year Round, Red Snapper Year Round (Check Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries website for the current Louisiana Red Snapper STATE season), Mangrove Snapper Year Round, Sharks May-October, Mahi July-October, Sheepshead Year Round  (December-April for BOAT LOADS of Sheepshead), Flounder May-November, Cobia April-September

- Question: Is Fuel included in the price?

Answer: Fuel is included in all trip options EXCEPT our 10,12, and 24 Hour Offshore trips.

- Question: How far do you go out on your trips?

-Answer: Inshore trips are usually shorter runs of 10-20 minutes to each spot. Snapper trips are a bit longer averaging about 30 miles (Approx. ONE hour travel time) in each direction. Our 10,12,24 hour trips vary, but you can expect around 80-100 miles (Approx. THREE hours of travel time) in each direction

- Question: Is the fishing better in the Morning or Afternoon?

Answer: We love to fish BOTH!! Inshore fishing is heavily reliant on the tide, so as long as there is tidal movement the fishing inshore can be excellent. The best way to answer this question is by observing the tide charts for a particular day, while also factoring in the forecasted weather. Snapper Fishing on the other hand is not affected quite as much by the tide movement, so it is normally GREAT both Morning and Afternoon.

- Question: How long are the trips and if we catch our Limit early do we come back in early?

Answer: Shark/Bull Red trips are 4 hours, Inshore and Snapper trips are 6 hours, and Southern Angler Packages are 8 hours. Whether we come in early or not after catching our limit of fish is entirely up to you! If you are okay with coming in early just let your Captain know and he will be more than happy to head back to the marina to begin fileting your days catch. If you would prefer to stay out and target a different species that's always an option as well. Your Captain will also be able to give you the best insight as to what other species are being caught at that particular time of year.
